Vijay Deverakonda’s ‘Ranabaali’ Set For October 16 Release
Actor Vijay Deverakonda’s upcoming period action drama ‘Ranabaali’ will now hit theatres worldwide on October 16, 2026, the makers announced on Thursday. The film was previously scheduled for release on September 11 but has been moved to the Dasara festive season.
Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, ‘Ranabaali’ stars Vijay Deverakonda in the title role, while Rashmika Mandanna plays his wife, Jayamma. Hollywood actor Arnold Vosloo, known for ‘The Mummy’, will portray the antagonist, Sir Theodore Hector.
Produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar under Mythri Movie Makers, with T-Series presenting the film, ‘Ranabaali’ is being mounted as a major pan-India period action drama.
Set in the 19th century, the film draws inspiration from historical events and lesser-known stories from the period between 1854 and 1878, against the backdrop of British rule. The narrative is linked to the struggles of the Rayalaseema region during a turbulent chapter of colonial history.
Announcing the revised release date, the makers described the project as “the darkest chapter of our history”, further building anticipation around the film’s historical and action-driven narrative.
The new October 16 release date gives ‘Ranabaali’ a prominent Dasara festive window, with the film expected to have a worldwide theatrical release in multiple languages. The project also marks another major collaboration between Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna.
With its large-scale period setting, historical backdrop and prominent cast, ‘Ranabaali’ is expected to be one of the major Telugu releases of the 2026 Dasara season.
