Vijay Names 15 Former AIADMK Leaders as TVK Deputy General Secretaries
Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) founder and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay on Friday assigned key organisational responsibilities to 15 former AIADMK ministers and legislators who joined the ruling party after the April Assembly election results.
Five former AIADMK ministers M S M Anandan, M C Sampath, Kadambur Raju, K Radhakrishnan and K T Pachamamal are among those appointed as TVK deputy general secretaries. “Their appointments are part of the ongoing initiatives to strengthen the party’s organisational framework,” Vijay said in a statement.
The appointments bring the former AIADMK leaders into key positions in the TVK's organisational structure, with each deputy general secretary being assigned responsibility for a specific area.
The new deputy general secretaries are M S M Anandan for Tiruppur North, M C Sampath for Cuddalore, K Radhakrishnan for Udumalaipet, K V Ramalingam for Erode West, M Anandan for Ulundurpet, Kadambur Raju for Kovilpatti, K T Pachamamal for Kanyakumari, Vellamandi N Natarajan for Tiruchirappalli East and N R Sivapathy for Musiri.
The list also includes Vaigaichelvan for Virudhunagar, S Valarmathi for Srirangam, J Sandeep Anand for Chennai, K G Muthu Venkateswaran for Tiruppur, Thollamoor Kannan for Villupuram and V C R Kumaran for Thiruvallur.
Separately, former AIADMK MP C Mahendran has been appointed district secretary for Tiruppur Suburban South District, which includes Madathukulam Assembly constituency.
The organisational appointments come days before the October 6 by-elections in Madurantakam and Dharapuram constituencies. TVK has fielded Maragatham Kumaravel and P Sathyabama in the two seats respectively.
Both candidates are former AIADMK MLAs who crossed over to TVK and had won their respective constituencies in the April 2026 Assembly elections.
The latest appointments mark another step in TVK's organisational expansion as the party prepares for upcoming political activities across Tamil Nadu.
