Vikram Prabhu’s 'City of Gold' First Look Unveils A Dark Gold Smuggling World

Vikram Prabhu’s upcoming 'City of Gold' has unveiled its first look and glimpse, taking audiences into the shadowy world behind the gold trade. The film marks Vikram Prabhu’s 26th outing and the directorial debut of Siddharth, with Shivathmika Rajashekar playing the female lead.

Produced by Raahul under the Romeo Pictures banner, the film also features Raahul and internet sensation Amala Shaji in key roles. The newly released promotional material has created curiosity with its unusual setting and intense visual treatment.

The first look shows Vikram Prabhu seated with a serious expression, casually tossing and catching gold bars. The striking image immediately hints at the value, power and mystery surrounding the precious metal, while raising questions about his character and his place in this world.

The glimpse expands that mystery by exploring the gold trade and smuggling ecosystem, with visuals reportedly hinting at an operation connected to Coimbatore. Traders, authorities and shadowy characters appear to inhabit this unfamiliar world, while the makers deliberately keep the central conflict under wraps.

Vikram Prabhu appears in an intense and commanding role, with the promotional material presenting him in a striking new avatar. The ensemble cast includes Alagam Perumal, Jaffer Idukki, GM Sundar, Vasundhara, Sunil Sugatha, Jayakumar, Mourish Dass, Bala Hasan and Lizzy Antony, among others.

The film’s technical crew adds further interest. Karthik Sharaj handles cinematography, while Yuvan Shankar Raja composes the music and background score. Arul Moses A is the editor, Hari Haran PS serves as production designer, Kavya Velusamy handles costumes and Dinesh Kasi choreographs the action.

Shot extensively across Coimbatore, Chennai and Kerala, the film is currently completing its final schedule. Post-production is expected to begin soon. A theatrical release date has not yet been officially announced.
