Vizag Crowd Roars as Raj Nidimoru Confirms Maa Inti Bangaaram 2
The fans asked, and Raj Nidimoru delivered. At the rousing success meet of Maa Inti Bangaaram held in Visakhapatnam, the filmmaker and writer officially confirmed that a sequel is happening, and Tollywood has not stopped celebrating since.
Nidimoru confirmed that he has already cracked the idea for the sequel and will be pursuing it after two years, with the same team returning for the project. He first put the question to the crowd, asking whether they wanted a second part, and the thunderous response from the Vizag audience sealed the deal right there on stage. Responding confidently, he confirmed that a direct sequel to Maa Inti Bangaaram is definitely on the cards, much to the delight of Samantha's fans.
The announcement comes on the back of a spectacular box office run for the original. After opening to around ₹13 crore worldwide on Day 1, the film crossed ₹40 crore globally by Day 3, emerging as one of the strongest openings for a female-led Telugu film. The film has so far amassed ₹47.10 crore in India alone, and notably, it was a profitable venture from the sale of the very first ticket, having been made on a bootstrapped budget. In North America, it became one of the fastest Telugu films this year to surpass the $1 million mark, underscoring Samantha Ruth Prabhu 's formidable star power among the Indian diaspora.
Directed by B.V. Nandini Reddy and produced under Tralala Moving Pictures , the film follows an ex-assassin forced to return to her violent past when her new family comes under threat. This marks the third collaboration between Samantha and Nandini Reddy, who previously worked together on Jabardasth (2013) and the blockbuster Oh! Baby (2019). The ensemble cast features Gulshan Devaiah , Diganth Manchale , Gauthami , and Sreemukhi , all of whom are expected to return for the sequel.
As for the timeline, the two-year window is carefully calibrated. Since Samantha is currently pregnant and will be taking a break from professional commitments, Raj plans to use that period to complete the script and initiate pre-production work, so everything is ready when she returns. Interestingly, the first film was given a proper closure with no open endings, meaning the sequel will introduce an entirely new threat to the family rather than continuing an unresolved storyline.
Nidimoru, who previously collaborated with Samantha on The Family Man , described feeling inspired to develop a sequel for the first time in his career, promising double the fun and double the excitement . With a blockbuster already in the bag, a story idea locked in, and the complete team committed to returning, Maa Inti Bangaaram 2 looks less like a promise and more like an inevitability.
