Wamiqa Gabbi Reportedly Doubles Her Salary After 'DC' Success
Wamiqa Gabbi is reportedly witnessing a significant rise in her market value after the success of DC, with her acting fee said to have climbed sharply as she takes on bigger projects across the Indian film industry.
The actress has been receiving widespread attention for her performance in DC: The Bloody Valentine, directed by Arun Matheswaran and featuring Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film has particularly strengthened Wamiqa’s popularity among South Indian audiences, while her growing list of projects is establishing her as a sought-after actress across languages.
According to media reports, Wamiqa was previously paid around ₹40 lakh for Baby John. More recently, NDTV, citing sources close to Bhooth Bangla, reported that she was paid ₹1 crore for the Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan film. That represents a substantial increase in her reported remuneration, although the exact figures have not been officially confirmed by the actress or filmmakers.
While the ₹40 lakh to ₹1 crore comparison is being described as a doubling or more than doubling of her fee in some reports, the figures should be treated as media-reported remuneration rather than officially confirmed salary details. Another report has quoted a higher figure for Bhooth Bangla, making it difficult to establish Wamiqa’s exact current fee.
Her rising remuneration comes amid an increasingly impressive lineup. Wamiqa has reportedly joined Prasanth Varma’s Jai Hanuman, starring Rishab Shetty. Details of her character are being kept under wraps, but the project could give her another major pan-India platform. The film is part of the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe and is expected to release in 2027.
Her recent success has also brought recognition from major names in South Indian cinema. Allu Arjun praised DC as a “Tamil classic”, while other prominent industry figures have also appreciated the film. Wamiqa has received particular attention for her performance as Chandra, adding to the buzz surrounding her career.
Beyond DC and Jai Hanuman, Wamiqa has several projects in different stages. Her lineup includes Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam, starring Rajkummar Rao, which is scheduled for October 16, 2026, along with projects such as Tiki Taka, G2 and Genie.
Wamiqa has also previously spoken about the gender pay gap in the film industry, questioning why actresses are often paid less than their male counterparts. Her reported increase in remuneration now comes at a time when her demand appears to be growing across Bollywood and South Indian cinema.
With DC giving her career a major boost, Jai Hanuman expanding her South Indian presence and several other projects lined up, Wamiqa Gabbi’s reported fee jump reflects the growing demand for the actress. If her current momentum continues, the ₹1 crore figure reported for Bhooth Bangla could be only another milestone in her rapidly expanding career.
