In a remarkable display of unity and social responsibility, more than 15,000 students from 121 Akal Academy schools came together on Friday to create a giant human formation reading "We Are Drug Free" , sending a powerful message against substance abuse. The initiative was organised to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking and was also an attempt to earn recognition from the World Book of Records, London .

At exactly 8 am , students assembled simultaneously at their respective campuses across Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan , turning school grounds into symbols of hope and awareness. In Himachal Pradesh , the event was held in Sirmaur district , where hundreds of students stood shoulder to shoulder to reinforce their commitment to leading a drug free life.

The large scale campaign was organised by Akal Academy , an educational institution run by The Kalgidhar Trust , which has consistently promoted value based education and social awareness among students. Through the coordinated human formation, the schools aimed to inspire young people to reject substance abuse and encourage communities to build a healthier and safer future.

Speaking on the occasion, Kapil Talwar , Principal of Akal Academy Baru Sahib in Sirmaur, said the initiative reflected the determination of students to stand firmly against drug abuse and promote healthy living. He added that the academy regularly conducts awareness programmes, counselling sessions, preventive interventions and value based educational activities throughout the year to ensure that its campuses remain free from drugs.

The campaign also highlights the growing role educational institutions can play in addressing one of society's most pressing challenges. By involving thousands of students in a single coordinated event, the academy demonstrated that awareness begins at a young age and that collective action can leave a lasting impact.

This is not the first time Akal Academy has undertaken such a large public awareness campaign. The institution has previously secured two World Records and one Limca Book of Records recognition through similar initiatives, reflecting its continued focus on combining education with meaningful social causes.

With thousands of students raising a united voice against drug abuse, the campaign served as a powerful reminder that the fight against addiction begins with awareness, commitment and the active participation of the younger generation.
