
Welfare Hostel Buildings to be Completed in Three Months: Deputy CM Bhatti
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has directed officials to complete the construction of welfare hostel buildings in the state on a war footing . He stated that buildings with 80 per cent of the work already completed should be finished within the next three months and made available to students by the upcoming academic year.
On Saturday, he held a pre-budget review meeting at the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat along with Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar . Several key decisions were taken during the meeting. Officials were instructed to send bills related to repairs of hostel buildings to the Finance Department once every 15 days, so that they can be cleared quickly. He warned that negligence in carrying out hostel repair works during the summer would not be tolerated.
He also directed officials to submit bills for hostel rents, electricity charges, purchase of cosmetics, and salaries of outsourcing staff on time. The Deputy Chief Minister stated that the government is giving top priority to payments related to welfare hostels .
Bhatti also reviewed the performance of the Health, Forest and Endowments departments . He advised officials to promote the cultivation of medicinal plants under the employment guarantee scheme. He further suggested that eco-tourism development in forest areas should be encouraged to support forest conservation. In addition, he directed officials to give special attention to the development of temples with historical and heritage significance.
The review meetings were attended by Finance Department Principal Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania and officials including Suvarna and Hanumantha Rao . The Deputy Chief Minister emphasised that officials must take immediate action and complete the works within the stipulated deadline.
