“Will Speak When Time Comes”: Brij Bhushan Hints at Irregularities in Ram Temple Donations

BJP leader and former MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has claimed he is aware of alleged misuse and embezzlement of donations made for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, but said he is currently not in a position to disclose details, triggering fresh political reactions amid an ongoing debate over transparency in temple funding.

Speaking to reporters at his residence in Vishnoharpur in Gonda district, Singh said he “knows a lot” about alleged irregularities but would not speak out at present, suggesting that doing so could land him in trouble.

“I am a very weak person. If I speak the truth, I will get into trouble because they are very powerful people. I do not have the courage to speak the truth right now. If the time comes, I will speak,” he said, without naming anyone or providing evidence to substantiate his claim.

His remarks come at a time when allegations and counter-allegations are being exchanged over the handling of donations collected for the Ram Mandir project in Ayodhya , with political parties raising questions about accountability and transparency in fund collection and utilisation. The issue has periodically surfaced in public discourse, with critics demanding clearer disclosure mechanisms, while supporters of the temple trust have dismissed such allegations as politically motivated.

Singh did not specify the individuals or organisations he was referring to, but his comments have added a new layer to the political controversy surrounding the temple fund issue, which remains sensitive given the Ram Mandir’s national and religious significance.

The former MP also said he had been facing difficult circumstances in recent years, referring indirectly to the 2023 allegations by women wrestlers against him, a case that had drawn nationwide attention and political debate over law enforcement and accountability.

On a separate issue, Singh commented on alleged paper leaks in competitive examinations including NEET , defending Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. He argued that resignations would not resolve systemic problems, and instead called for strict action against what he described as an organised network involving officials at multiple levels.

The remarks are likely to fuel further political debate, especially as opposition voices continue to raise questions on governance, institutional transparency, and handling of high-profile controversies.
