The Williams sisters are back together, and one of tennis' most successful partnerships is set for another chapter at the US Open.

Serena and Venus Williams have received a wild card to compete in the women's doubles event at Flushing Meadows, marking another reunion for the legendary sisters at a tournament where they have already created plenty of history.

The pair won the US Open doubles titles in 1999 and 2009 and have an impressive 27-7 record across nine appearances at the tournament. Now, after years away from playing together regularly, Serena and Venus will once again join forces on one of tennis' biggest stages.

Serena, 44, returned to competitive tennis this summer after a four-year absence. The sisters had initially planned to play together at Wimbledon, but Serena was forced to withdraw after suffering a knee injury during her singles campaign.

They eventually reunited at the Cincinnati Open, although their comeback ended with a first-round defeat. The US Open now offers the iconic duo another opportunity to rediscover the chemistry that made them one of the greatest doubles teams in tennis history.

Their partnership has produced an extraordinary 14 Grand Slam doubles titles, along with three Olympic gold medals in 2000, 2008 and 2012. Serena and Venus also shared the world No. 1 ranking in women's doubles for eight weeks, underlining their dominance as a team.

The sisters last played together at the US Open in 2022, in what was widely expected to be Serena's farewell appearance at Flushing Meadows. Four years later, she is back on the same courts, and once again alongside her older sister.

While Serena recently competed in mixed doubles with Carlos Alcaraz, Venus, 46, is also entered in the women's singles draw.

For tennis fans, the reunion is more than just another doubles entry. It is the return of a partnership that helped define an era, and perhaps one more chance for the Williams sisters to create magic at the US Open.
