Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar on Saturday emphasized the need for continuous improvements in India's electoral system, telling nearly 700 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and supervisors in Jaipur that the Election Commission is working to make elections more efficient, reliable and citizen-centric.

Addressing the gathering at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC) in Sitapura, Kumar said, "The Election Commission is committed to strengthening democratic institutions and continuously improving the electoral process." He added that efforts are underway to enhance efficiency and reliability in election management across the country.

The interaction was attended by Rajasthan Chief Electoral Officer Naveen Mahajan and other senior election officials. Kumar highlighted the critical role played by BLOs in maintaining accurate voter rolls, facilitating voter services and ensuring the smooth conduct of elections at the grassroots level.

Speaking to reporters after the programme, the CEC said, "This interaction provided an opportunity to engage directly with BLOs and supervisors and discuss ways to further improve electoral processes." He noted that feedback from field-level officials helps the Commission identify practical challenges and strengthen election administration.

Kumar also praised Rajasthan's performance in electoral roll management and Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-related activities, describing the state's work as "commendable." The appreciation comes as the Election Commission continues to focus on improving voter-list accuracy, digital election management systems and citizen services.

The outreach forms part of the Commission's broader reform agenda under Kumar's leadership, which includes technology-driven initiatives, electoral roll purification and enhanced training for election personnel. The ECI has repeatedly stressed that accurate electoral rolls and robust grassroots administration are essential for conducting free, fair and credible elections in the world's largest democracy.
