YS Jagan Alleges Crackdown on DSC-2025 Protesters, Demands CBI Probe

YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has accused the Andhra Pradesh government of using police action and political intimidation to suppress unemployed youth protesting over alleged irregularities in the DSC-2025 teacher recruitment process.

In a post on social media on Friday, Jagan claimed that a relay hunger strike organised by DSC aspirants in Vijayawada was attacked while the protesters were peacefully demanding a CBI investigation into the alleged paper leak and recruitment irregularities. He alleged that a ruling party MLA and his supporters were behind the incident and questioned whether violence had become the government's answer to the concerns of unemployed youth.

Jagan further alleged that the protest camp was vandalised in the presence of police, with tents being damaged and stones, eggs, and tomatoes thrown at demonstrators. He also claimed that women protesters were assaulted during the incident and alleged that former MLA Malladi Vishnu and the protesting candidates were specifically targeted.

According to Jagan, similar incidents were reported from several parts of the state, including Chilakaluripet, Kanigiri, Yadiki, Tadipatri, Palamaneru, Repalle, Guntur, Ponnur, Vemuru, Macherla, Gurazala, Kandukur, and Bapatla. He alleged that opposition leaders were detained and that the government was denying unemployed youth their democratic right to peacefully voice their grievances.

Questioning why the government was reluctant to order an independent investigation into the DSC-2025 controversy, Jagan demanded that Education Minister Nara Lokesh be held accountable. He also urged the government to immediately release the pending Vidya Deevena and Vasathi Deevena dues, claiming the arrears had reached around ₹9,000 crore.

Jagan further called on the government to fulfil its election promise of providing ₹3,000 per month as unemployment allowance and to clear the pending dues for the past two years. He asserted that removing protest camps or filing cases against demonstrators would not silence unemployed youth and said the agitation would continue until justice was delivered.
