YSRCP Alleges Social Media Accounts Blocked Over DSC Recruitment Questions

The YSR Congress Party has accused the Andhra Pradesh coalition government of trying to silence criticism over alleged irregularities in the Mega DSC-2025 teacher recruitment process by blocking social media accounts that raised questions about the selections.

Addressing the media in Tadepalli on Sunday, YSRCP spokesperson Putta Siva Shankar alleged that the government was resorting to authoritarian measures to contain growing public criticism of the recruitment process. He said attempts to suppress voices questioning the DSC selections would only strengthen the party’s resolve to bring the alleged irregularities before the public.

Siva Shankar claimed that social media accounts operated by YSRCP supporters and sympathisers had been blocked after discussions surrounding the DSC recruitment gained momentum online. According to him, questions had been raised over several aspects of the recruitment, including an allegation that an individual secured a job without appearing for the mandatory Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).

The YSRCP spokesperson also alleged irregularities in the implementation of reservation rules and the recruitment process under the sports quota. He claimed that these allegations had triggered wider debate on social media and that the government was attempting to curb the discussion as public opinion increasingly turned critical of the recruitment process.

He further alleged that complaints were routed through the state cybercrime authorities to Meta, resulting in the blocking of Facebook, Instagram and other social media accounts. The action, he claimed, extended from accounts associated with Sakshi Media to those belonging to party supporters and others highlighting the DSC issue.

Siva Shankar alleged that irregularities occurred at various stages, from the DSC notification and examination process to the final appointments, with particular concerns surrounding the sports quota.

He maintained that blocking social media accounts would not stop the YSRCP from pursuing the issue. The party, he said, would use alternative platforms to continue raising questions about the recruitment process.

The YSRCP would also approach Meta seeking restoration of the blocked accounts and provide legal assistance to supporters, influencers and sympathisers facing action over their posts, he added.
