YSRCP Leader Ambati Murali Krishna Alleges 11 Lakh Houses Left Incomplete
YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) Ponnur constituency coordinator Ambati Murali Krishna has accused the TDP-led coalition government of leaving around 11 lakh houses incomplete across Andhra Pradesh, alleging that construction works initiated during the previous YSRCP regime have not been completed.
Murali Krishna said the government should complete the pending houses before claiming credit for providing homes to poor families. He said the previous government, headed by former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, had distributed house-site pattas to 31.19 lakh families and developed 17,005 YSR-Jagananna Colonies across the state.
According to him, 22,80,358 houses were sanctioned during the YSRCP government, with construction of more than nine lakh houses completed. However, he alleged that the present government had not constructed a single new house during its tenure and had instead allowed houses at different stages of construction to remain unfinished.
The YSRCP leader also alleged that more than 1,000 court cases were filed by the TDP to prevent the distribution of house-site pattas. He claimed that Jagan approached the Supreme Court and secured relief in favour of the distribution process.
Referring to the issue of house sites for 50,000 poor families in Amaravati, Murali Krishna alleged that the government approached the court and later cancelled the pattas, leaving the beneficiaries without residential plots.
He also questioned why the state’s drought situation was not discussed at a meeting attended by Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He claimed that 388 of Andhra Pradesh’s 688 mandals had been declared drought-affected, including mandals in Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s Kuppam constituency.
Murali Krishna demanded clarity from the government on minimum support prices for paddy, cotton, maize, red gram, green gram and black gram. He said YSRCP was ready for any probe into alleged irregularities in housing projects following Minister Nadendla Manohar’s call for an inquiry, while challenging the government to also investigate the alleged rice-related issue in Kakinada.
On local body elections, Murali Krishna said YSRCP was not opposed to the polls, but wanted accurate electoral rolls. He called for clarity over names of deceased voters and alleged bogus votes.
He further said farmers were struggling due to inadequate returns for their crops and claimed that reduced welfare payments were affecting the rural economy.
