The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has sought an independent investigation by the Election Commission of India (ECI) into alleged irregularities and political interference in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Andhra Pradesh.

A delegation led by YSRCP MLC Lella Appireddy submitted a memorandum to Andhra Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Vivek Yadav , urging the election authorities to intervene immediately and ensure that the voter list revision process remains transparent and impartial.

According to the party, serious concerns have emerged regarding the handling of voter data during the enumeration exercise. YSRCP alleged that official voter enumeration forms are being accessed by unauthorized individuals and that voter information is being uploaded into the MyTDP application , which it claims is linked to the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP). The party also alleged that some Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have been subjected to pressure and intimidation while carrying out their official duties.

To support its allegations, YSRCP cited incidents reported from Nellore, Atmakur, Repalle and Tamballapalle . The party highlighted an alleged incident in Tamballapalle involving the personal assistant of a former TDP MLA. According to YSRCP, an audio recording suggests that the assistant pressured a BLO to hand over completed enumeration forms for uploading into the MyTDP app. The recording allegedly also refers to similar practices involving other BLOs in the constituency.

The opposition party demanded a comprehensive and independent inquiry into these allegations and called for adequate protection for BLOs. It also urged election authorities to issue strict instructions preventing official electoral records from being shared with political party representatives or any unauthorized persons.

Additionally, YSRCP requested a priority investigation into 36,388 alleged duplicate or multiple voter registrations in Kuppam Assembly constituency . The party proposed a statewide audit combining technology-driven verification and field-level inspections to identify discrepancies.

At the same time, YSRCP emphasized that no genuine voter should be removed from the electoral rolls without proper notice, verification and due process . The ruling TDP had not issued an immediate response to the allegations at the time of reporting.
