YSRCP to Protest Over Alleged DSC Recruitment Irregularities in Vijayawada on Sep 21

The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) will stage a protest in Vijayawada on September 21, demanding a comprehensive investigation into alleged irregularities in Andhra Pradesh DSC teacher recruitment and justice for deserving candidates. The protest will be held at 10 a.m. outside the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) office, former minister Ambati Rambabu announced.

Speaking to the media in Tadepalli on Tuesday, Rambabu alleged that a series of serious concerns had emerged around the recruitment process despite the coalition government claiming that more than 16,000 teacher posts had been filled. He said allegations were surfacing almost daily, raising questions about the transparency of the appointments.

Among the allegations, he pointed to question paper leaks, the sale of examination papers and candidates allegedly paying money to secure government jobs. Rambabu said these accusations required a thorough and impartial investigation rather than being dismissed without scrutiny.

He particularly highlighted alleged irregularities involving the sports quota, which was increased from 2 per cent to 3 per cent. According to Rambabu, allegations had emerged that some candidates secured teaching positions by submitting fake or questionable sports certificates.

The former minister claimed that the YSRCP had brought evidence suggesting that ineligible candidates benefited from suspicious certificates while deserving applicants were deprived of opportunities. He further alleged that some government departments had themselves identified certain sports certificates as invalid.

Rambabu questioned why the government had not ordered an independent probe despite the seriousness of the allegations. He said the government’s reluctance to conduct a transparent investigation was creating doubts among candidates and the public.

The YSRCP has also demanded a CBI investigation into alleged irregularities in recruitment conducted through the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC), besides the DSC appointments.

Rambabu said that if the government was confident that no wrongdoing had taken place, it should have no reason to avoid an independent investigation. He demanded that the government apologise to candidates who were allegedly denied justice and take appropriate steps to address their grievances.

The YSRCP leader made it clear that the party would continue its agitation until the government responds to the allegations and justice is delivered to affected job aspirants.
