ZPTC and MPP Reservation Notification Issued in East Godavari
The East Godavari district administration has finalised reservations for 21 Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) seats and 21 Mandal Parishad President (MPP) posts ahead of the upcoming local body elections. District Collector and District Election Officer Keerthi Chekuri announced that a notification detailing the allocations had been issued.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Collector said the reservations were determined in accordance with the Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1994, and Government Order No. 154 issued by the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department on October 12. The allocations cover Scheduled Castes (SCs), Backward Classes (BCs) and unreserved categories, with seats earmarked separately for women and other candidates within each category.
Of the 21 ZPTC seats, five have been reserved for SCs, five for BCs and 11 for the unreserved category. Three seats each in the SC and BC categories have been allocated to women, while the remaining two in each category are designated for other candidates. In the unreserved category, six seats have been allotted to women and five to others.
The ZPTC seats reserved for SC women are Korukonda, Kapileswarapuram and Tallapudi, while Rajamahendravaram Rural and Chagallu fall under the SC general category. Undrajavaram, Gokavaram and Rayavaram have been allocated to BC women, with Anaparthi and Nallajerla designated as BC general seats. Among unreserved constituencies, Rajanagaram, Nidadavole, Rangampeta, Biccavolu and Gopalapuram are reserved for women. Kovvur, Kadiyam, Mandapeta, Seethanagaram, Devarapalli and Peravali fall under the unreserved category for other candidates.
The 21 MPP President posts follow the same reservation pattern, with five posts each for SCs and BCs and 11 unreserved. Kovvur, Devarapalli and Nallajerla are reserved for SC women, while Gopalapuram and Nidadavole fall under the SC general category. Mandapeta, Rajamahendravaram Rural and Chagallu have been allocated to BC women, while Biccavolu and Korukonda are BC general posts.
In the unreserved category, Seethanagaram, Kadiyam, Anaparthi, Peravali and Gokavaram have been allotted to women. Rayavaram, Tallapudi, Kapileswarapuram, Rajanagaram, Undrajavaram and Rangampeta are designated for other candidates.
Keerthi Chekuri said the notification contains the complete reservation details for both ZPTC constituencies and MPP President posts, establishing the category-wise allocations for the upcoming local body elections.
